As it emerges that it took nearly two hours to restart Fabrice Muamba’s heart last night, and that he remains in a critical condition in hospital it is important that we all continue to pray for a full recovery.

Whether you are religious or not, please take a moment to wish him well. Regardless of who you support, he needs all of our support to pull through.

What happened last night at White Hart Lane is an absolute tragedy, and my thoughts are with the young midfielder’s family and friends right now.

Please pray for Muamba and help spread the word by tweeting this article or liking on Facebook. The more people we can get to spare a thought for the lad the better.

Keep fighting Fabrice, we are all right behind you. You can do it….

Spread the word. The football community are as one right now, join together in unison and hope.

But, I’ve now had 24 hours or so to reflect, and calm down a little.

Obviously none of us enjoyed being beaten like that by the Arse… any other team would have been a little more bearable. But, we have to remember, it was just one match. There are 38 premier league games in a season, and we have been fantastic this year thanks to some brilliant, and often mesmerising performances from the lads. We have a fantastic manager (for how much longer is of course a whole different story), and we are financially strong too.

Let us not act like Arsenal fans and complain, or get on the players’ backs. We know we have a great team, and I’m sure they will be the first to admit that it was a bad day at the office yesterday. We all have them. As Kaboul said on Twitter late last night;

Bad result today understand your discontent but we are too trust mew heading up for next week and a great support. <s>#</s>westicktogether

We did not defend well yesterday, and I mean as a unit not just the back four. We know it, Harry knows it, and the players know it. But, we learn from our mistakes, and work on improving for the next game…. Man Utd at The Lane.

I am proud to be a Spurs fan, especially after reading through many supportive tweets after the game yesterday. There were – of course – a select few individuals who found it necessary to shout off abuse at Harry, and the squad. How can you even dream of insulting those that have provided us with such a great season so far?

As Younes said in his tweet, WE STICK TOGETHER. Let’s try and get #westicktogether trending on Twitter!!

As things stand we still have a great chance of finishing the season as London’s top club, but Chelsea and Arsenal are both chasing and closed the gap to 7 points yesterday. Harry says;

“We want that third spot – that’s what we are after. We have to make Champions League football. It won’t be easy. Arsenal and Chelsea are strong sides.

“We have to pick ourselves up and get ready for the next game. We have a real tough run; Manchester United next week and Everton away and Chelsea away. It couldn’t be any tougher.”

Source: Harry Redknapp talking to BBC Sport

There is no time for negativity from manager, players, or – especially – us fans. We have to be on top form on Sunday, and we have to beat Utd. Without support from us the job will be much harder.

Losing to Arsenal is never positive, and after being 2-0 up it is even worse. BUT, it’s done, it’s over, and now we move on. Onwards and upwards.

COYS!!!

So, tomorrow (in a little under 35hrs from now) we travel the short distance to the Emirates to face the Arse and so I have put my thinking cap (otherwise known as my guessing cap) on and come up with a prediction. I’d love to hear whether you agree or disagree….

Firstly let me share with you the methodology behind my prediction. The North London derby is like a cup final in that form is not the most reliable prediction method. We KNOW we are the better team by a country mile at the moment, and without doubt we play much more attractive and incisive football on a weekly basis. BUT, this means nothing.

Both teams will be desperate to win this one, and Arsenal will be possibly more determined than ever after being second best thus far this year. Further to this they have had a pretty shitty couple of weeks, and the Gooners are losing patience fast. This will only add to their determination to get one over us.

We tend to see plenty of goals in this meeting, and I see it being no different this time round. I think we will score, but think they will too.

Therefore, I am predicting a 2-2 draw. What do you guys think? Agree, or think I’ve lost my mind?!!

Of course, I am hoping I’m wrong and the mighty (ha ha!) Gunners receive a drubbing courtesy of e men in white….

COYS

I have not posted anything on this blog for what seems like ages… but it is transfer deadline day so thought I’d keep track of all the latest news, rumours and confirmed signings as we progress.

Remember, transfer window slams shut at 11pm, so a little over 5 and a half hours left.

Currently, there are strong rumours linking us with a deal with Louis Saha. Yes, you heard right…. Louis Saha! If this is true what was HR talking about when he said we will only sign someone special!

Joe Jordan has refused to rule out Juventus winger Miloš Krasic joining us at some point. Stan Collymore for one would be excited by this deal, saying on Twitter;

If Spurs get Krasic,id be drooling if I were a Spurs fan.Pace,creativity.Goals. Like him a lot.

There are also growing rumours linking us with a bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Chris Samba but Rovers seem pretty adamant that they are not going to sell. Still, we have heard it all before right?!

Stay tuned for more rumours as we get them, or post you own in the comments section below….

Update 2244: Harry Redknapp has said that the Louis Saha deal is almost done, but Pienaar is not leaving. Wolves are trying to sign Sebastien Bassong, but that deal is reliant on (according to BBC) 34-year-old Ryan Nelson being brought in from Blackburn Rovers.

Pavlyuchenko’s proposed move to Lokomotiv Moscow is being handled by chairman Daniel Levy. All in all a pretty strange transfer deadline day in my opinion.

Redknapp has also said he tried to sign Milos Krasic earlier in the week on loan but Juventus would only accept a permanent deal.

I don’t live in Tottenham, and haven’t done for many years now. But, it is with great regret and disgust that I see the images of the trouble in Tottenham last night.

A peaceful protest from the local community who need (and rightly so) answers with regards to the shooting of a man by the police on Thursday. However, this incident is being independently investigated by the IPCC. A peaceful protest is fine, but what this progressed into is disgusting.

Tottenham high street is destroyed… firefighters attended 49 primary fires… 26 police officers injured, 2 seriously.

There is NEVER an excuse for violent behaviour like this to take place. The majority of people in Tottenham are law abiding, friendly, respectful people. It appears that a small minority of mindless thugs have taken it upon themselves to drag Tottenham into disrepair.

All you achieve when behaving in this way is the loss of support for your cause. This is NEVER the correct way to voice your concerns, it only serves to force others to abandon you as a lost cause.

To all those mindless idiots, grow up. When you have become a mature adult you may find you will achieve more by abstaining from violence.

Sorry… just realised I have used too many big words in this article that you idiots will not be able to understand.

For information purposes, Tottenham Hotspur FC have announced that they have cancelled all stadium tours for today and tomorrow for safety reasons. So, you mindless thugs have also ruined a great day out for families and young Spurs fans that would have been looking forward to this day for a long time.

Rant over… for now

So it begins, possibly the most eagerly awaited 90 minutes of football to be played at WHL in recent times. Spurs are defending their one goal advantage over AC Milan.

Team News

Spurs: Gomes, Gallas, Dawson, Corluka, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Van der Vaart, Modric, Sandro, Pienaar, Crouch

Milan: Abbiati, Nesta, Jankulovski, Thiago Silva, Seedorf, Flamini, Abate, Boateng, Alexandre Pato, Ibrahimovic, Robinho

Updates will appear in the comments section below. Your own observations are more than welcome!

Harry has promised that attack will be his teams form of defence and the first 10 minutes appear to confirm this tactic. Van der Vaart is back in the starting lineup but unfortunately Gareth Bale has not quite made it (but is on the bench if needed!).

I can’t remember the last time I have been this excited about watching 90 minutes of football. The cold beer is at hand and the girlfriend is cooking pizza. Everything is perfect…. so far.

Where are you watching the game? Share your thoughts with us on the performance so far….

22nd of November 2009 was a wet day in N17 but it was ahot on the pitch as we humiliated Wigan Athletic by nine goals to one. With Jermain Defoe playing his best football we have seen in years and a creative midfield behind him the skies seemed the limit for our nimble forward. So in to the 2010/11 season, the first year we were in the champions league, we had just signed Rafael Van Der Vaart, Bale had blossomed into the player we were all told he would become and more importantly the year ended in a 1. Now I am aware that we have had limited time from Jermain Defoe on the pitch but from 10 Premier League games so far this season we have seen a return of 0 goals, suddenly 35 million for Andy Carroll or 15 million for Suarez looks like an appetizing deal, and although Pavlyuchenko is capable of a moment of brilliance and Crouch’s goal scoring record in the Champions League they both lack the natural strikers instinct due to poor movement and badly timed runs shown best by Crouch at away at Everton and Pav whenever he plays. I hope we finish in the top 4 and I hope Levy and Redknapp bring in a striker of real quality in the summer so we can be talking of another world class player at the club along with Bale Modric and Vaart and hopefully push for greater and better things. However until this is addressed or we start scoring I cannot see us progressing further forward as a football club

With just 10 fixtures remaining we are still in the hunt for 4th position, and a Champions League spot, but have tough competition from Man City, Aston Villa, and Liverpool. I predict Tottenham finishing in 6th. See why below.

Not since the 2006-7 season have we been stood much of a chance of gaining a Champions League place – which I’m sure you remember was ended on the final day by a bout of food poisoning. Let’s hope that all meals are cooked to perfection for the remainder of the season!

So, let us look at the current situation and assess our chances of Champions League football at The Lane next year;

As I write we are sitting in 4th place on 49 points. Man City are right behind us on goal difference, but have a game in hand. Liverpool are in 6th on 48 points, but we have a game in hand over them. Villa are currently down in 7th with just 45 points BUT have 2 games in hand over the Spurs.

The battle for fourth place is still wide open. Wigan’s 1-0 win over Liverpool last night was well received, but they are still in it. Having said this they still have to travel to Old Trafford, and face a home tie against Chelsea before the season finale.

City have a home tie with United on the 17th April, and I’m positive Alex Ferguson and his team will be desperate to beat their bitter (and big spending) rivals – even more so due to the fight for the Premier League title. A trip to The Emirates awaits City the following week. Can they beat two title contenders consecutively?

A meeting with Aston Villa in the penultimate weekend of the league campaign could be one to watch out for.

Speaking of Aston Villa, a trip to Stamford Bridge looks to be their trickiest fixture, with a relatively easy run-in compared to City and Liverpool. Don’t forget the meeting with City on the 1st May though!

So, how about the mighty Tottenham Hotspur?

Unfortunately we have still to play all three of the title contenders before the season ends. Not just that, but on consecutive weekends.

Sat 10th April: Arsenal Home
Sat 17th April: Chelsea Home
Sun 25th April: Man Utd Away

Not good news there then. More annoyingly, we keep working our way through the FA Cup the hard way. How many more replays are we going to let congest our fixture list?!

Liverpool have the Europa League. Spurs and Villa have the FA Cup. City have only the Premier League to concentrate on.

For that reason, I predict big spenders Man City to take 4th place, with Villa close behind. I’m hoping we can take 6th place with Liverpool behind.

Before I get abuse, I’m just being realistic based on remaining fixtures. It’s not what I WANT to happen, but what I THINK will happen.

If you have a different opinion, share it in the comments section below!

Well, it’s now been over a month since I last posted anything at Tottenham Chat due to personal circumstances. Good news is I’m now back and ready to share my thoughts again! I’m still looking for more writers to post content here though. Ever fancy yourself as a sports journalist?!

So, today it’s a short trip to the Emirates for a clash with out best buddies Arsenal (sarcasm of course!). After last Saturday’s defeat at home to Stoke we could really do with a win – whoever we were playing. Naturally, the majority of us would be quite happy with the Stoke result if it meant we could take 3 points against the Arse today!

History has proved this derby to be a particularly entertaining one with plenty of goals and drama. I’m sure we all remember the 4-4 draw last season! David Bentleys sublime volley, and Lennon’s very late equaliser. I love entertainment but I’ll quite happily take a 1-0 win today as long as it’s 3 points.

Having lost to United and Chelsea so far this year, we could really do with a win against another of the top 4 to add to our opening day defeat of Liverpool. More importantly, we are dangerously close to dropping from the top 4 ourselves. A defeat today would enable Arsenal to jump ahead of us by 3 points with a game in hand.

Also threatening our position are Liverpool in 5th position and just 1 point behind. In 6th Man City are also on 18 points but they have played one less than us. City travel to Birmingham today and I expect them to take all 3 points. Villa are in 7th, and only 2 points behind us, also with a game in hand. Everton are their hosts this afternoon and this could be a tight one but I still expect Villa to take the points. In summary – the pressure is on to remain in the top 4 this weekend!

Lennon is injured, so David Bentley will start and hopefully carry on the good form he showed in the 2-0 Carling Cup win over Everton in the week. Woodgate looks set to partner King in defence, and Defoe is suspended.

50 MINUTES UNTIL KICK-OFF – COYS!!!!
