Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined Portsmouth for a fee believed to be £4million.
The German midfielder joined us 2 years ago for a reported fee of £5.4million from Hertha Berlin, and has managed just 14 appearances for the club in that period.
Harry Redknapp has also confirmed that midfielder Jamie O’ Hara has been permitted to follow Boateng to Portsmouth on loan until christmas. Redknapp has admitted that O’ Hara is a ‘triffic’ player, but he needs matches and is currently unable to break into the starting line-up at Spurs.
The loan deal has now been confirmed, with O’ Hara saying;
It was frustrating to be sat on the bench at Tottenham. Hopefully I can come here and get some games under my belt.
My agent told me that Paul Hart was really interested a few days ago and Harry Redknapp asked me if I’d like to go out on loan.
It’s a chance to play for a side who have done really well over the last few years, so I jumped at the opportunity.
I know Younes from when he was at Tottenham and Kevin-Prince Boateng and Michael Brown have also joined, so it’s good to meet up with them again.
I’m always going to give 100 percent and hopefully I’ll fit in straight away and get to know the lads quite quickly.
If we’re going to play 4-3-3 then hopefully I’ll play in the centre of midfield, where I can attack and score some goals.

O’ Hara’s loan deal has sparked rumours of a new midfielder arriving at the club before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. Sandro and Petrov have been strongly linked to us, amongst others.
Any thoughts?
