After taking 10 games to reach 6 points last season, it’s fantastic to start so well this year. After winning at home to Liverpool on the opening day – albeit slightly controversially – we have made it count with a sublime performance against Hull City and a 5-1 demolition.
Even Hull boss Phil Brown admits that the result was not flattering to Spurs, but was fully deserved after an amazing performance last night.
I don’t think, hand on heart, 5-1 flattered Tottenham tonight – they were fabulous.
It’s difficult to say to our boys to go out there and do what Spurs do because the gulf in class looks alarming. The fact is, though, that anyone who played Spurs tonight will have got a hiding, I think.
Luckily we don’t have to play Tottenham every week. Next up we have Bolton, where we’ll need to dig in and respond that’s for sure.

Hull City 5 v 1 Tottenham Hotspur: Match Highlights
So, is this a sign of things to come this season – or should we lobby the FA to end the Premier League season now before things go downhill?!
Harry certainly seems to be getting the best out of the squad at the moment, Defoe in particular. Jermain is in scintillating form. Fresh from his brace for the national side last week, he hit a fabulous hat-trick last night and looked as sharp as I’ve ever seen him.
This is certainly not a one man team though. Every one of the lads performed last night, as well as the fixture with Liverpool on Saturday.
Next up it’s a trip to Upton Park on Sunday. Any predictions? What are your thoughts of the season so far?
We’ll beat the hammers in this form, no doubt about it!
@James
If last night’s form continues that is! As Phil Brown said, we could have beaten anyone last night – but will it continue?
